In addition to our pest control services, we also offer the following termite control treatments.
Subterranean termite prevention requires vertical and horizontal physical or chemical barriers between wood in the structure and the termite colonies in the soil. Another method, utilizing a low-pressure spray after the final grading is complete, can create a "horizontal chemical barrier".
Localized or spot treatment is more restrictive and is often applied to a single board or small group of boards that is generally less than ten (10) linear or square feet. Oftentimes these are areas that are adjacent to termite infestations that were not treated.
A full treatment is the most extensive treatment for termites, treating the soil on both sides of foundation walls, the voids of cinder blocks in foundation walls, and the soil under plumbing penetrations in slabs and bath traps. Drilling is usually required to treat the interior foundation wall, cinder block voids and plumbing penetration areas. The number of treatment areas and the amount of drilling varies based on the home’s construction type.
Termite baiting kills the workers in the colony by starving it of food. Once the worker termites have been eliminated, the colony goes into a suppression phase or “decline” and the queens and soldiers die of starvation because they cannot feed themselves. Eventually they die and the termite colony is eliminated.
